James Yap's Lawyer asks for Gag Order

Panay pa rin ang salita at pag-bibintang kay James Yap ng kaniyang asawang si Kris Aquino kaya napilitan ang abugada niyang si Lorna Kapunan na humingi ng gag order sa korte.

MANILA, Philippines - As issues of his marital woes with TV host Kris Aquino seem to get out of hand, James Yap’s camp is planning on filing a gag order in court to put an end to the public washing of dirty linens.
Of late, Kris’ camp has added mutual psychological incapacity as ground for filing the petition on the nullification of their marriage. In their earlier petition, the Queen of Talk’s lawyers cited "lack of authority of the solemnizing officer."
Lately, there have been incessant talk that James was remiss in fulfilling his financial obligation to his family.

The issue reached fever pitch when Baby James, the ex-couple’s three-year-old baby, was hospitalized. It was rumored that James did not spend a single centavo for his baby’s hospital expenses.
“Tanungin n’yo man lahat ng kapatid ko, lahat ng nakatrabaho ko… kung tungkol sa pera hindi ako mahirap kausap. Pero kung tungkol sa mga anak ko, as much as possible talaga ipaglalaban ko,” Kris said during her re-launch as Belo endorser recently.

She said she didn’t ask money from James for their baby.
“Hindi ko hiningi at hindi rin naman in-offer kaya wala. You have to remember we have eleven years apart. He’s 28. The level of responsibility is really very different. It’s my fault, wala kaming pre-nup so I’m paying the price for it,” she said on “Showbiz Central,” Oct. 3.

Atty. Lorna Kapunan, James' defense lawyer, refuted Kris’ claims.

“Ang talagang istorya ‘dyan… kunwari dumadating ‘yung Meralco bill. Kahit na ang ibang bill dumadating sa bahay nila sa One Roxas. ‘Pag nag-i-issue ng tseke si James…ang sinasabi ni Kris, '‘Wag na, ‘wag na lang, ako na lang.' So, ‘yung mga intended niya na ibayad sa bahay ay nag-open si James ng isang bank account, trust account… matagal na... para kay Baby James,” she explained.

“Nu’ng kakarating lang galing States ni James, Kris asked him to alternate with her in taking care of Baby James sa ospital. So, parang it’s unfair to say na siya lang ang nag-shoulder and all that,” said Atty. Sonya Margarita Castillo, another defense lawyer of the basketball player.
To end all speculations and to make both parties refrain from discussing their life in public, Atty. Kapunan said they’re thinking of filing a gag order.
