This is regarding the rumor that Martin Nievera sang for a special someone during his concert in February 1 to celebrate his anniversaary in show business.

The special someone was not his live-in compaion Katrina Ojeda who was in the United States at that time,

The woman is said to be the step daughter of the Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei and a Filipina who's now married to a singer Franco Laurel.



Prince Jefri, 53, is the youngest brother of the 29th Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah. According to the Associated Press, Jefri has "four wives, 17 children and 18 adopted wards." He was also once married to Filipina Ayen Munji, who is now married to fellow singer and stage actor Franco Laurel.

Reports say Angie has been spotted with Martin on many occasions in the past weeks. The girl has been seen dining with him, driving for him, and staying close by during his tapings/rehearsals. Martin, for his part, has been seen picking up Angie's kids from school, eating with them, as well as swimming with them.



It is a picture of Martin swimming with Angie's kids that Katrina is supposed to have in her cellphone.



KATRINA KNOWS. Yes, Katrina already knows about Angie, says a source from Katrina's camp. Trusted family friends reportedly told Katrina about the girl Martin has been seeing nearly every day. Some of these friends were said to have sent Katrina first-person accounts about Martin and Angie being together.



It is not clear if Martin and Katrina have had a proper confrontation about this. What's clear is that Katrina knows and is waiting for Martin in Las Vegas with their son, who just celebrated his first birthday last October 7. Las Vegas is where Katrina moved from New York, because America's "Entertainment Capital of the World" is where Martin had his career plans laid out.



In fact, Martin has finally cornered a two-month gig with the Society of Seven, an all-male band composed of Filipinos based in the U.S., which has Lani Misalucha for a regular crooner. Martin will be the special guest star when the band, with Lani, performs at Las Vegas's Flamingo Hotel on February 13.

CAREER BUMPS. This is not the first time that Martin, who has always dreamed of becoming known as a singer internationally, will do shows in Las Vegas. The country's Concert King did leave the Philippines in 2003 to try his luck on the American concert scene. Since then, according to his official website, he has performed at the Golden Nugget/Las Vegas (2004) and at the Rio Hotel and Casino (2005).



But in May of 2007, his career hit a major snafu. Martin was set to stage a big show at the Steve Wyrick Theater at the Miracle Mile mall, also in Las Vegas. It was to be produced by California-based Filipino producer Gene Gamalinda.



According to someone who knows the producer, ticket sales proved very weak, and the producer pulled out of "a losing venture." In other words, he wanted to cut his losses. But according to published reports, Martin says his producer "abandoned" him.



On May 4, 2007, a Philippine daily put out an article titled "Martin Nievera struggles in Las Vegas show." The article was sympathetic to the singer: "The singer was bold enough to take everything on his shoulders—even if it would break his back—just to pursue his dream, the source added.



"To keep things going, Martin handles other production chores, even manually carrying sets, equipment and musical instruments off the theater stage to make way for the next set of performers, the source added."



The same article mentioned that Martin and Katrina took over the production. Martin admitted that he was forced to sell his cars and his watches to be able to pay his backup band and production crew.



According to reports, Martin is yet to recover from that financial setback—and is presently down and out.



Now comes talk that Martin is hesitant about returning to Vegas, and the reason is supposed to be because he wants to spend time with his new love in Manila. Meantime, Katrina, who is known to be impatient and feisty where Pops was patient and submissive, is said to be hopping mad. She has reportedly threatened to go on television to expose Martin if he does not return to Vegas fast.

Even Boy Abunda refused to talk much about Gretchen's rumored affair with Dodie Puno. Must be that because Gretchen does not really tell him all?

But he's definite that it was not gimmick to promote Gretchen Barreto's album. There are kinks that have to be ironed out like copyrights of the songs that she recorded and other publishing requirements' compliance. Not even her money can move the records to the market.

Jessa Zaragosa Strikes back at Ruffa Mae Quinto

Jessa Zaragosa was a sexy singing diva before she settled down in the US together with her husband, actor-singer Dingdong Avanzado. She was pissed by the article about Ruffa Mae Quinto where she was accused by the comedienne of being a boyfriend grabber .

"Una, nung mga panahon na yun, wala pong inagawan, wala pong nang-agaw at wala rin po akong sinirang relasyon nila ni Dingdong noon.



"Kasi po unang-una, hindi po siya girlfriend ni Dingdong Avanzado. Uhm, kasi ang hirap umisip o magsabi ng disenteng salita kung paano ko pong mailalarawan ang relasyon nila ni Dindong. We were just going out," pahayag ni Jessa.



Nabalita noon na may isang lalaki raw na pumasok sa buhay ni Rufa na siyang naging dahilan ng hiwalayan nila ni Dingdong.



"Ah, actually, nahuli siya ni Dingdong. Kasi noong lumalabas pa sila ni Dingdong, nahuli siya ni Dingdong fishing other men aside from Dingdong. Nahuli siya ni Dingdong, nag-iiyak siya, syempre na-touch ang kanyang pride. But after that kahit nahuli na siya, nagkikita pa rin sila. Lumalabas pa rin sila. So, ganun ang set-up nila. Hindi seryoso, hindi boyfriend-girlfriend, exclusive. So, ganun ang kanilang relasyon noon."



Itinanggi naman ni Jessa na nahuli ni Dingdong si Rufa Mae na may kasiping na ibang lalaki.



"Ang nangyari, pumunta si Dingdong sa bahay ni Rufa Mae. Ayaw po siyang pagbuksan ng pinto. Hindi ko po masabi kung pinto ng kwarto o pinto ng bahay hanggang sa ayun nga, iyak siya ng iyak hanggang sa nag-usap sila ni Dingdong. Inamin po niya kay Dingdong yung lalaki, kung sino po yung lalaking yun," ang sabi ng singer.



Humingi ng clue ang host ng The Buzz na si Cristy kung ang lalaking tinutukoy ba niya ay pogi?



"Opo, isa siyang aktor at politician pero ayoko na pong magbigay ng names kasi lalaki pa po, e," ang mabilis na sagot nito.



Tinanong naman ni Boy si Jessa kung paano niya ilalarawan ang naging kaugnayan ni Rufa Mae noon sa kanyang asawa.



"Ah, ang hirap po kasing magsalita, Tito Boy, lalo na't nasa national television po ako ‘no. Siguro read between the lines na lang, paano siya seseryosohin ng isang lalaki kung siya ay nanlalalake."



Sinabi rin ni Jessa na hindi siya galit na galit kay Rufa. Ang reaksiyon niya ay para sa kapakanan ng kanyang anak.



"Masama po ang loob ko kasi inatake niya po kami, e. Inatake niya ang pamilya ko at kaya ako nagsasalita ng ganito, hindi lang po para sa pamilya ko, hindi po para sa relasyon namin ni Dingdong, ito po ay para sa kapakakanan ng anak ko. Itong sasabihin ko, hindi niya [Rufa Mae] maiintindihan dahil hindi siya isang ina, hindi siya ina.



"Ang anak po namin four years old. Dalawang taon na lang ‘yan magiging six years old na ‘yan. Makakabasa, makakasulat na ‘yan. Malalaman na niya kung ano yung mga nasa pahayagan, nasa internet. Ayoko po, bilang magulang, [na] balang araw tatanungin po ako ng anak ko, ‘Mom, is it true na inagaw mo si Daddy dito sa babaeng ito at meron kang inagrabyadong tao?' Hindi mo maiintinidhan ‘yan kung bakit ako nagre-react ng ganito kasi hindi ka isang ina.



Sinabi pa ng dating Phenomenal Diva na hindi niya puwedeng pabayaan na lang ang diumano'y maling istorya ni Rufa Mae.



Maaanghang ang mga salitang lumabas mula sa kanya: "Okey na po sana, e. Nangarir po ako,e. Hindi ko po kailangan ang ganitong isyu na ito. Okey na po sana kung facts ang sinabi niya sa tell-all. Kaya lang po ang feeling ko rito iba na ang sitwasyon ngayon. It's about time I have to set the record straight.



"Ah, gusto ko lang pong sabihin, eight years ago hinayaan na lang po namin ni Dingdong, nagparaya nga po kami. Kumbaga, nilunok na lang po namin yung accusations sa amin ng mga tao na nanloko kami, niloko namin si Rufa Mae.



"In fact, noong lumabas po siya noon sa The Buzz, sa The Buzz po nagsimula ‘yan, e, noong umiyak-iyak siya. Hindi po namin ito nasabi noon na nag-text siya, tumawag siya kay Dingdong at sinabi niya na humanda kayo, panoorin ninyo ako't abangan ninyo ang mga sasabihin ko.

Sa sinasabing tell-all interview ay binanggit kasi ng sexy comedienne na dati silang mag-best friend ni Jessa.

Sa gitna ng isyung ito, mas pinili raw ni Dingdong ang manahimik, "Kasi 'di ba lalaki siya? Kapag sumagot siya, napaka-ungentleman ng dating katulad ng nangyari before. Pero magsasalita rin si Dingdong sa tamang panahon."



Pagkatapos nito ay nagbigay ng mensahe si Jessa mga manonood at kay Rufa Mae.



"Uhm, ang mensahe ko, ako po, nasa Amerika na ako. Kami ni Dingdong nananahimik dito. Puro trabaho na ang inaatupag namin. Walang isyu. Ito hindi ko kailangan ang isyu na ito. Nagsasalita lang po ako dahil para sa pamilya ko at para sa kapakanan ng anak ko. Dahil karapatan ng anak ko na malaman ang katotohanan lalo na kapag lumaki siya at karapatan din ng buong mundo na malaman kung ano ang totoo."


At para naman kay Rufa Mae: "Nalulungkot ako para sa ‘yo. Dahil ngayon hilung-hilo ka sa katanyagan mo. Akala mo na you can get away with anything. May katapusan ‘yan. ‘Yang kasikatan mo, ‘yang katanyagan mo, kayamanan mo, hindi mo madadala sa hukay. DODY OR DODIE PUNO, WHO IS HE?

Many people asked, who is Dodie or Dody Puno.

This news from GMA7 gives the profile of the man who was rumored to have offered Gretchen Barreto that Tonyboy could not give her--marriage.

But the reason, says this friend, that Gretchen’s dalliance with Dody took a serious turn, where the one with John did not, is because Dody offered marriage. And while Tonyboy is on a league of his own money-wise, Dody comes from an influential family with means. Dody is the brother of Atty. Ricardo “Dong" Puno of ABS-CBN’s News & Current Affairs, Atty. Reggie Puno of ABS-CBN’s legal office, and Secretary Ronaldo “Ronnie" Puno of the Department of Interior and Local Government, putting the family within President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s powerful circle.

However, Dody’s offer of marriage does not surprise his friends, according to a showbiz insider. In his words, “Style niya talaga yun. Marami na siyang napangakuan ng kasal dati."

As far as everyone knows, the fellow is single. He is known to say that his marriage to Baby Pijuan, the sister of former Miss International Aurora Pijuan, was annulled when he was 35 years old. (He is now 58.) Baby and Dody have three grown-up children, one of whom manages Alchemy, the club Dody owns.

After he separated from Baby, reports say, he lived with Vicky Garcia, a commercial model and beauty queen in the ‘80s. He had two children with her. He is said to have offered marriage to Vicky, who is herself well-off.

But in the mid-‘80s, before Dody could marry Vicky, he fell for beauty queen and actress Alma Concepcion. They have one child. He also offered Alma marriage. But up to the time Alma split from Dody, there was no trip to the altar. Still, the two remain friends, and were last seen together publicly in last year’s birthday party for their seven-year-old son.

Since then, there have been rumors of liaisons with showbiz stars, including Ara Mina. But also within the last seven years, says a showbiz editor who knows Dody, he has been with a non-showbiz girlfriend. Whether he offered marriage to her or not is not known. ANILA, Philippines—There’s trouble in paradise and it’s being milked for all its worth.

For the past two months, there have been “persistent and consistent” rumors (the exact words of a close friend of one of the protagonists) about the reported breakup of controversial beauty Gretchen Barretto and her longtime partner, business mogul Tonyboy Cojuangco.

Last weekend, the rumor mill went on hyper-drive. Gossip has since gone beyond show biz, to high-society circles: The actress had been thrown out of the conjugal home.

A source close to Tonyboy insisted that he was still “very much in love with her, but decided to set her free.” Another colleague asked, pointedly: “Is freedom the new euphemism for being dumped?”

A lot of ink has been spilled, mostly on blind items. But of late, the three protagonists have been named on radio and TV, and in print.

Previously described as “another rich and powerful businessman,” Gretchen’s purported new boyfriend has been identified in several tabloids as Dodie Puno. He was earlier linked to a beauty queen and a sexy actress. (Sexy actress denies this.)

A Cojuangco associate intimated that there could be another reason for the separation: a beautiful “reason,” on legs. A new lady love?

Last Christmas, he was spotted at Simbang Gabi in the ABC 5 compound, which he owns. Did he complete the novena and what could he have wished for?

An employee told Rushes that Tonyboy had admired pretty young stars Kristine Hermosa and Marian Rivera in the past. A friend of his whispered that, indeed, the businessman had found a new paramour— a “singer-actress who had a boob job.” But she’s the exact opposite of porcelain-beauty Barretto, and already has a model-boyfriend! The friend insisted that Boob Babe found time to “seduce” the businessman.

Still another associate was skeptical: Tonyboy had two major surgeries last year. How could he fool around?

An ABS-CBN insider was sure that Cojuangco was actively pursuing a Kapamilya actress separated from her hunk of a husband.

What we know

On the ABS-CBN chismis show “The Buzz,” host Boy Abunda, Barretto’s manager, sounded seriously concerned, even as he stressed he was not fully informed of the details. Co-host Cristy Fermin said “a general” had urged her to go easy on her comments about the controversy.

On Wednesday, a reporter on dzMM (ABS-CBN’s radio arm) asked Alma Concepcion, identified as a former girlfriend of Puno’s, for a comment. Alma flatly said she wasn’t aware of the latest goings-on in Dodie’s life. (That’s the long version of, “No comment.”)

What we’ve gathered

Text messages from various sources are conflicting, to say the least.

Barretto’s best friend: “Not true.” A Cojuangco aide: “They’re fine.” A Cojuangco pal: “Definitely, all’s not well. She has left the house.” A Puno friend: “Gretchen and Dodie have been going out, but always with barkada.”

Another Barretto friend: “She laughed off the gossip that she [was thrown out and] didn’t get to bring any of her jewelry. She knows exactly where her bling-blings are.”

What is likely

An associate of Cojuangco’s said the couple was ironing out kinks in the relationship, and that third parties—were just ammunition.

A show biz insider lent a sharp observation: “Gretchen could be asking for something big, that Tonyboy can’t give her right now: a marriage contract.” Another source agreed, saying that every time the two fought, she would invariably threaten to go back to show biz.

In fact, Rushes learned that Gretchen had met with ABS-CBN executive Malou Santos, for a possible starring role in a soap opera.

A Cojuangco associate asked, exasperated: “So, is this all just for that teleserye?”

Well, Gretchen herself said in an interview last December: “Without intrigues, I don’t have a career.”

Scoffed a Cojuangco colleague: “She is much too savvy to be caught on the losing end after a breakup—true or not.”

Young actress Camille Prats has given birth to a healthy baby boy at Los Angeles, California. Camille and her husband, Anthony Linsangan, have chosen Nathaniel Ceasar or Nathan as the name of their son.

It can be recalled that Camille admitted that she was pregnant courtesy of her non-showbiz boyfriend a few hours before she flew to Los Angeles last September 5 in an exclusive interview with Showbiz Central's John "Sweet" Lapus aired on September 9. The former child actress was already four months pregnant at that time.

Concert King Martin Nievera said that he is willing to reunite with his former wife Concert Queen Pops Fernandez, but only on stage.

"Sure we can even do shows again together. I mean I can see that," Nievera told entertainment media during the press conference Wednesday of ABS-CBN’s new television series "Lobo."

His statement stemmed from reports that he had a serious talk with Fernandez to end their word war.

He is also certain that he can work again with Fernandez if the people would ask and if people would still love to watch them do things together.

"I think so if the people really wanna watch that after this hullabaloo. I thought hindi na interesado ang mga tao dahil pagod na pagod na sila sa mga intriga namin (I thought people will no longer be interested because they are tired of all the intrigues around us)," he said.

"So kung may audience pa. Kung gusto niyong manood ng Martin and Pops bakit hindi (So if there will still be an audience, if they still want to watch Martin and Pops, why not)?"

Nievera said that his conversation with Fernandez has nothing to do with them but with the welfare of their kids.

"We talked… and we talked mostly about the future of the children and mostly business mostly civil staff," he said.

Martin added "there’s nothing really emotional, wala iyong galit galit, o sigawan (No shouting). I tried to be as quiet as possible para siya ang magsalita (I tried to be as quiet as possible and let her talk). And when she was done we were done."

Nievera also cited that Fernandez said everything she that needed to say and the actor hopes that after the talk everything will be okay.

"She said everything she needed to say and I think everything hopefully will be on the right track.

Nievera also bared that they never talked about what happened in the past, their marital troubles, separation and the most recent controversy when Fernandez divulged almost everything that happened with their relationship.

"No it’s better that we don’t talk about those things, it is better just to put that behind us already," he said.

The singer also hopes that this year will be a happy and peaceful year for them and a really happy birthday for his son Ram and for him.

"I think so hopefully and also for me February 5th will be a nice happy birthday there’s no more wars.

Nievera is now busy preparing for his 25th anniversary concert on February 1st at the Araneta Coliseum.

RAPHE FERNANDEZ PREFERS ACTING THAN DIRECTING

Raphe Ferandez is a the eldest son of Rudy Fernandez and Lorna Tolentino. He finished film-making at the Ateneo de Manila but now he would like to be in front of the camera rather than behind it. According to Lorna Tolentino, she gave her blessings to his son because he has already finished a degree. Now he can do whatever he likes.

Handa nang sumabak ang panganay na anak nina Rudy Fernandez at Lorna Tolentino na si Raphe Fernandez sa pag-aartista. Napag-alaman ito ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) mula mismo kay LT, at okay lang siya rito dahil nakatapos na ang anak sa kursong filmmaking sa Ateneo de Manila University.



"Matagal na siyang naghahanda," sabi ni Lorna. "In fact, noon pa siya kumuha ng extensive acting workshop kay Gina [Alajar]. Ninang niya 'yon kaya naman I'm very sure tinuruan siya nang husto para humusay sa pag-arte. Importante kasi sa akin 'yon. Kung sasabak siya sa pag-aartista, dapat ay handa siya. Hindi porke anak siya nina Rudy Fernandez at Lorna Tolentino, uubra na 'yon.



"Besides, pumayag lang talaga kami dahil natapos niya ang kanyang pag-aaral. Yun lang deal namin ng mga anak ko. Magtapos sila, and they can do whatever is best for themselves. I have a feeling na magiging stage mother ako. Sa true lang, eeksena talaga ako kapag artista na si Raphe! Keber!" biro at natatawang sabi ng aktres.



Teaser na nga yung nakikita sa ilang magazines ang mukha ni Raphe. Ang dating si Rap-Rap ay binatang-binata na, 22 years old. Prize catch ang binata for any girl, pero kung showbiz ang pag-uusapan, built-in ang pagiging star material nito.



"Nagulat nga ako noon, kasi hindi naman talaga interesado sa pag-aartista si Raphe. Kumuha siya ng kursong may kaugnayan sa filmmaking, pero ang feeling ko, baka gustong maging direktor o scriptwriter. Pero ang sabi niya, mas interesado siya sa pagdidirek. He will try acting, para humusay siya sa pagdidirek. Sabi ko, okay 'yon. Doon lalabas ang creativity ng isang individual artist. Ang pangalawang anak naman nina Lorna at Rudy na si Renz ay nag-aaral pa rin sa University of the Philippines. Mga isang taon na lang ay magtatapos na rin ito.



"At saka na niya isipin kung ano ba ang gusto niya," sabi ni Lorna. "'Yun lang ang gusto ko, makatapos sila. Frustration ko kasi ang pag-aaral. Hindi ba't ilang ulit akong labas-masok sa eskuwelahan, pero hindi ako nakatapos dahil kailangan kong magtrabaho?



"So I made sure, ang mga anak ko, hindi muna malu-lure ng showbiz. Mag-aaral na muna sila. Raphe is already sure of himself, at nandito lang kami for guidance. But I'm pretty confident may mararating siya sa pag-aartista, kung ise-set niya ang mind at heart niya rito."



Mukhang hindi naman pinilit ni LT si Raphe. May impluwensiya, at hindi maiaalis 'yon. Parehong batikang mga artista ang kanyang parents.



"Quiet kasi 'yang si Rap, 'yan ang nakamana ng ugali ko. Napagkakamalang suplado, pero 'pag palagay na ang loob, lagi nang may ready smile. I was like that when I was younger, di ba?



"Si Renz nga ang feeling kong mag-aartista, kasi machika 'yan. But he may turn out to be a good businessman someday. Sumososyo 'yan sa businesses ng kanyang maga kaibigan. Nagugulat na lang ako dahil nakakaipon siya, wala pa siyang trabaho at hindi pa nakakatapos," nangingiting pahayag ng proud mom.



Pinasasabak na raw ng mag-asawa ang mga anak nila sa pag-aartista dahil sa hindi na nga pupuwedeng magtrabaho pa si Daboy. Lumalaban pa rin ito sa sakit na cancer. Gayunpaman, hindi kailangan ng mag-asawa ang financial support ng mga anak.



"Hindi yung pagsuporta sa pamilya ang point dito," paglilinaw ng aktres. "Hilig niya 'yan, e. Naiintindihan namin.

Samantalang hindi rin ako nawawalan ng trabaho. Showbiz has been very good, sa amin ni Daboy. Kung maibabalik namin ang kabutihang ito through our children, bakit namin ipagdaramot?" paliwanag ni Lorna.



Samantala, mabuti naman ang lagay ni Daboy ngayon. Nakita nga namin sa Redemptorist Church si Daboy, and he looks well. Maganda ang pangangatawan ng action star.



"Pero lumalaban pa rin siya," sabi ni Lorna. "Hindi naman biro ang sakit na dumapo sa kanya. Ipinagpapasalamat na lang namin sa Panginoon, hindi talaga Niya kami pinababayaan. Naging mas close pa ang family namin dahil diyan. Kahit ganoon, naitataguyod pa rin namin ang aming mga anak."

SUNSHINE CRUZ IS NOT READY FOR RECONCILIATION WITH CESAR MONTANO

Nagpalit na siya ng SIM, at hindi niya ako kinokontak. Idinadaan na lang niya sa sekretarya ang mga habilin, lalo na yung tungkol sa mga bata," pahayag ng aktres.

Jolo Revilla wants to slay the "playboy" image that continuously taints the Revilla men.


Sitting beside his inspiration, Lovi Poe, the son of Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla firmly defended himself and revealed his intentions for the young actress.



"Seryoso ako sa kanya," said Jolo to Startalk in a taped interview aired earlier today, January 19. "Gusto ko na mapatunayan sa mga tao na hindi ako ganoon. And I'm a one-woman man. Hindi na 'ko ‘yong dating Jolo."



Lovi, on the other hand, admitted that she's well aware of her suitor's playboy image. However, she argued that any man, regardless of his background, is capable of being unfaithful.



"Lahat naman ng lalaki... hindi lang naman siya, kahit sinong lalaki nakakatakot," confessed Lovi.



Taking a step further in defending her ardent suitor, Lovi continued, "And I don't want to judge [the] Revillas when people say na babaero."



NOT YET AN ITEM. The closeness, not to mention the obvious kilig, being displayed by the pair led a lot of people to conclude that they're already an item—a theory quickly straightened out by Jolo.



"I'm still courting her pa naman, e," confided Jolo, "sana maging maayos."



It is common knowledge that Jolo had a past with Grace Adriano, who is the daughter of former sexy actress Rosanna Roces. The romance produced a love child (Gab) but owing to Jolo and Grace's young age and emotional instability, the two never got married.



The former sweethearts though remain civil towards each other for the sake of their son. Jolo also happily announced during the interview that Grace has found a new love; the same way he has found his in the person of Lovi.



"Okay lang kasi matagal na naman kaming wala, 'tsaka okay na din ‘yon para masaya na siya," commented Grace on Jolo's closeness with Lovi, in a separate interview.



Proving that all's well between them, Jolo revealed that he had met Grace's boyfriend on several occasions and he feels that the guy is perfect for the mother of his son.



"Yeah," affirmed Jolo eagerly. "Na-meet ko na, I heard that he's a good man."



Grace, unfortunately, cannot say the same about Lovi. Not that she has anything against the daughter of Action King Fernando Poe Jr., but rather, fate has yet to arrange a chance meeting between the two women.



But as of the moment, the young mother could only give her impression of Lovi based on what she sees on the screen.

Sa pakikipag-chat ng PEP kay Camille, na nasa Los Angeles, California ngayon habang hinihintay ang pagsilang ng kanyang first baby, nakumpirma namin mula sa young actress ang balitang nagpakasal na sila ng ama ng kanyang magiging anak na si Anthony Linsangan.

Ayon kay Camille, last January 5 sila ikinasal ni Anthony sa Los Angeles, California na rin. Dagdag pa ng dating child actress, simple lang ang naganap na kasalan at pamilya lang nila ang present.

Obviously, isang reason na rin siguro nina Camille at Anthony na magpakasal ay para gawing legal ang pangalan ng anak nila once na maisilang na ito.

Ayon pa kay Camille, there will still be a church dito sa Pilipinas, although "no exact plans yet for the church wedding. As soon as the baby's out, aayusin namin."

Sa ngayon, ang ina na lang ni Camille na si Mrs. Alma Prats ang naiwan at kasama nila ng husband niyang si Anthony sa paghihintay ng kanyang panganganak. Her dad, Dondi Prats, ay umuwi na rin daw sa Pilipinas last week after their wedding.

The Comedy Concert Queen was not laughing when she appeared on The Buzz yesterday, January 6, to answer questions with regards to the alleged shoplifting of her eldest son, Sancho in a convenience store in P. Noval Street. As a matter of fact, a somber Ai Ai faced the camera and later broke into sobs as the actress expressed her sentiments to her son’s rescue.
Her eldest, Sancho was accused of taking two rolls of candies and allegedly put it into his pocket and failed to pay for them.
The store’s cashier supposedly pulled the kid’s collar and dragged him to the establishment’s storage room and have interrogated and intimidated him to admit of his alleged crime.
But a serious Ai Ai said with conviction that the accusation on her son was false.
TheBuzz“Alam ko ang totoo, kilala ko ang anak ko,” sobbed Ai Ai. “Pinalaki ko sila sa pagmamahal, may takot sa Diyos, hindi sinungaling at higit sa lahat, pinalaki ko silang hindi magnanakaw.”
The store manager in his message, coerced Ai Ai to search for the truth because in the end, she might be asking for an apology.
“Ikaw sana, alamin mo ang totoo, kilala ko ang anak ko,” defied Ai Ai as response to the statement. “Baka ikaw pa ang mag-sorry sa akin.”
The store manager said that the reports that have been coming out in the newspapers are entirely the opposite of the real story.

The fantasy film about robots made from recycled material battling evil forces copped the coveted 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival Best Picture plum during the Awards Night Saturday at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

Imus Productions and Ignite Media’s “Resiklo” bested eight other entries in the annual filmfest, including the favorites “Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo” (2nd place) from Star Cinema and “Enteng Kabisote 4: Okay Ka Fairy Ko (The Beginning of a Legend)” (3rd Place) from M-Zet Productions/OctoArts Films.

Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, meanwhile, won Best Actor for Maverick Films’ “Katas ng Saudi” a story of the plight of returning Overseas Filipino Workers. Maricel Soriano, on the other hand, won the Best Actress award for her stellar performance in Regal Entertainment’s “Bahay Kubo.”

First-time director and GMA-7 news reporter Cesar Apolinario won Best Director for his maiden project, “Banal.”

Jose Javier Reyes, meanwhile, won Best Screenplay for “Katas ng Saudi.” Roi Vinzons bagged the Best Supporting Actor plum for “Resiklo.” Eugene Domingo, on the other hand, won Best Supporting Actress for “Bahay Kubo”.

The Gatpuno Antonio Villegas Cultural Award was given to Regal Entertainment’s “Bahay Kubo” and Maverick Films’ “Katas ng Saudi.”

“Resiklo” led all in technical plums, with Best Visual Effects (Ignite Media), Best Cinematography (Jay Linao), Best Editing (Jay Halili), and Best Sound (Ditoy Aguila).

Meanwhile, the creative awards were spread almost evenly among entries. Mae Cruz and Cesar Apolinario won Best Story for “Banal,” while Nash Aguas won Best Child Performer for “Shake, Rattle and Roll 9.”

Von de Guzman won Best Musical Score for “Bahay Kubo” and Rusty Fernandez composed the Best Original Theme Song, “Wala Na Bang Pag-asa?” for “Anak ng Kumander.”

Rodel Cruz won Best Production Design for “Resiklo” and Rosalinda Lopez took home Best Make-Up for “Desperadas.”

“Desperadas” was also named the festival’s Most Gender Sensitive Film.

Ayon sa source ng PEP, six weeks and two days na ang dinadala ni Jennylyn courtesy ng kanyang boyfriend na si Patrick Garcia. Nagpa-check-up sina Jennylyn at Patrick sa St. Luke's kanina at dito nga nakumpirma ang pagbubuntis ng young actress na magtu-21 years old pa lang sa May 15.



Nang kumpirmahin ng staff ng showbiz talk show ang balitang buntis si Jennylyn, inamin naman daw ito agad ng young actor. Idinagdag pa ni Patrick na pananagutan niya ang dinadala ni Jennylyn.



Sa katunayan, at press time ay kasalukuyang nasa Makati City Hall sina Jennylyn at Patrick at nagpapakonsulta ang dalawa para sa nalalapit nilang pagpapakasal. Ayaw raw kasi ni Patrick, 26, na lumabas ang bata na hindi pa sila kasal ni Jennylyn.

Ruffa Gutierrez' lonely holidays

Nawala nang tuluyan si Yilmaz sa buhay ni Ruffa Gutierrez. Bagong taon na bagong taon, walang balita mula sa asawa kaya ayun balik siya sa kanyang pamilyang si Eddie Gutierrez at Annabelle Rama.

NEW YEAR WITHOUT YILMAZ. New Year would still be pretty much the same for Ruffa despite the absence of estranged husband Yilmaz.



"Like always, every year, I always spend it with my family, dog... I'll be with my two kids, my mom, my dad, all the Gutierrez family. Magsasama-sama lang kami sa bahay," Ruffa shared excitedly.



The Gutierrez's way of welcoming the New Year is typical of any Filipino family. "We usually hear mass then we eat ng sama-sama. Pinoy na Pinoy ‘di ba?" Ruffa smiled.



For 2008, Ruffa is more determined to be wise when it comes to her finances. Being a single mom with two adoring daughters undoubtedly altered Ruffa's priorities. "Sana makapag-save ako ng marami. ‘Wag masyadong maging magastos, maging praktikal kasi may dalawa na 'kong anak," she admitted.



Ruffa will be greeting 2008 with a busy schedule. "Third week of January, mag-uumpisa na ko ng bagong soap ko sa ABS-CBN and at the same time mag-uumpisa na rin ako ng movie with my mom, My Monster Mom under Regal Films, and siyempre nasa The Buzz pa rin ako every Sunday."



Like any other hard working celebrity, she wished, "Sana more projects sa 2008."

SAKAL, SAKALI, SAKLOLO OVERTAKES ENTENG KABISOTE

Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo is now number one in the Metromanila Film Festival.

MANILA, Philippines—As the crucial weekend grosses come in, Star Cinema’s “Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo” overtakes OctoArts’ “Enteng Kabisote 4” in the box-office race of the 33rd Metro Manila Film Festival.

“Sakal,” sequel to last year’s top-grosser “Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo,” posted P68.3 million. On the other hand, “Enteng,” fourth instalment of the fantasy franchise starring TV host Vic Sotto, earned P66.6 million.

Third place goes to Regal’s “Shake, Rattle & Roll 9,” with P41.6 million.

Imus/Ignite’s “Resiklo” is in fourth place, with P15.6 million; MaQ’s “Bahay Kubo,” fifth, P12.6 million; and Maverick’s “Katas ng Saudi,” sixth, P2.8 million.

As of Dec. 30, total MMFF earnings is P208 million.

Ric Camaligan, MMFF executive committee member, provided the latest box office figures.

Camaligan credits the festival’s “Cash sa Pelikula” promo for the good box-office showing.

“Sakal” director Jose Javier Reyes, who is currently vacationing in Boracay, says that he is happy with the strong performance of “Sakal” at the tills, but hopes “movies that are different will also be given a chance by moviegoers.”

“We can’t have a festival of sequels every year,” he notes “We can’t have ‘Enteng,’ ‘Sakal,’ ‘Shake’ and ‘Mano Po’ every year. I believe the success of ‘Sakal’ is a carryover from last year’s ‘Kasal.’ More than ‘Katas’ [which he also directed], I hope new films like ‘Banal’ which opens Jan. 1 will also do well.

SUNSHINE CRUZ, NAG-ALSA BALUTAN

Nakakapanghinayang ang pinagsamahan, ang kasal ng taon na pinagkagastusan na mauuwi lang sa paghihiwalay. Totoo kaya itong balita na nag-alsa balutan si Sunshine Cruz ngayong Pasko dahil sa selos sa isang Brazilian model?

Ito ang balita mula sa PEP.

Nagsimula bilang isang blind item, natukoy ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) kung sino ang sinasabing celebrity couple na diumano'y naghiwalay nito lang nakalipas na Pasko. Ito ay sina Sunshine Cruz at Cesar Montano.



Mula sa ilang unidentified sources sa showbiz, napag-alaman ng PEP na nilisan ni Sunshine at ng tatlong anak nila ni Cesar ang bahay nila sa Quezon City noong December 26, pagkatapos ng mainitang pagtatalo noong December 24 at 25.



CESAR DENIES REPORTS. Nakausap sa telepono ng editor-in-chief ng PEP na si Jo-Ann Maglipon si Cesar kagabi ng 8:30, upang kunin ang kanyang panig tungkol sa kumakalat na balitang naghiwalay na sila ni Sunshine matapos ng mahigit na pitong taong pagsasama.



Halata sa boses ni Cesar na nasorpresa siya sa tawag ni Ms. Maglipon, pero mariin niyang itinanggi ang mga naglalabasang balita tungkol sa kanilang mag-asawa.



"Oh, one of those tampuhans lang ng mag-asawa ito," pakaswal na sabi ni Cesar. "One-hundred percent ng Filipino couples, nagtatampuhan. Hindi ito naiiba sa 100 percent na 'yan. Tampuhan lang 'yan, no big deal."



Nang ipaalam sa kanya na ang bali-balita sa showbiz ay nagbigay na ng pahayag si Sunshine sa Philippine Star kaya namin kinukuha ang kanyang panig ay nagseryoso na ang tono ni Cesar.



"I would like to be honest. Meron kanya-kanyang version ang anumang tampuhan. Wala akong mabibigay na version ko, and this is to protect my children. Hindi lang ako ang Montano, sila rin. I have my story to tell, pero not now," pahayag niya.



Nang tanungin namin siya tungkol sa balitang nagkaroon sila ng malaking away ni Sunshine noong mismong araw ng Pasko, itinanggi ito ni Cesar. "We were together on the 25th," sabi niya.



Totoong umalis raw ng bahay nila sa Quezon City si Sunshine, pero nagpaalam daw sa kanya ang asawa. Dumalaw daw kasi sa bahay nila si "Mommy Alma," ang ina ni Sunshine, at niyaya si Sunshine sa kanila.



Lalong pinabulaanan ni Cesar ang balitang may third party na involved sa kanilang "tampuhan" ni Sunshine.



"Magkakandahilo-hilo lang sila ‘pag pinatulan nila ang istoryang ito," sabi ni Cesar, na ang tinutukoy ay ang showbiz press. "Kailangang matigil na ito. Kung ilalabas n'yo ‘yan, ‘tapos lumabas ang whole scenario, kayo rin ang magsasabing ‘Bakit?' Wala ito, sa amin lang ito [ni Sunshine]. Wala akong itinatago. Kaya ako nanggagalaiti. Ewan kung diyan masaya ang press. Ang sabihing hiwalay kami!"



Dagdag niya, "The last thing I'm going to do is to have an affair. Si Sunshine, selos-selos lang ‘yan. Hindi ito grabe. It can be contained. It's a waste of time to write about this. Kami pa rin!



"You know me, I'm sober. I'm a health buff. I hate yung magpuyat. I have a sober mind. Hindi ko sisirain ‘yan sa pambababae. Yung magbahay ng babae, mambuntis ng babae, hindi ko gawain ‘yan. Ang dami kong plano sa buhay. Bakit ko sisirain?"



Sa puntong ito, sinabi ng PEP kay Cesar na maaaring sa kanya ay hindi ito grabe, pero para kay Sunshine ay maaaring malaking bagay ito dahil nagpahayag na itong umalis nga siya sa bahay nila.



"Don't you think I'm hurting?" palaban na tanong ni Cesar. "That's a great insult, that's an insult if you think I'm not hurting. This involves my three children. This [story] is stupid, stupid. This is hearsay. It annoys me so bad."



Sa tonong mas mahinahon, idinagdag niya, "Eto na lang, meron akong sasabihin kapag nabasa ko na ang sinabi ni Sunshine. Then, I will tell you my version. But right now, wala ito. This is tampuhan lang."



BRAZILIAN MODEL. Ang dahilan diumano ng paghihiwalay nina Sunshine at Cesar ay isang Brazilian model na lumabas sa TV ad ng Samba corned beef—si Marianna del Rio.



Ayon sa kuwento ng isang PEP source, nakita diumano ni Sunshine ang ilang litrato ng party ng Mano-Mano, ang katatapos lang na programa ni Cesar sa ABS-CBN, at dito raw ay malinaw na magkasama ang action star at si Marianna. Kilala nga raw ng staff ng Mano-Mano ang Brazilian model, at hindi lang daw sa iisang okasyon kasa-kasama ni Cesar ang magandang modelo.



Dahil kasama rin sa mga litrato ang isang matalik na kaibigan ni Cesar, tiniyak daw ni Sunshine na usisain ito. Hindi raw tumigil si Sunshine hangga't di niya napaamin ito. Noong una raw ay panay ang tanggi ng kaibigan ni Cesar, pero nang pagsabihan daw ito ni Sunshine na pupuntahan niya ang misis nito at sasabihing kakuntsaba siya ni Cesar, nagtapat na raw ito.



Ayon sa kaibigan ni Cesar, noon pang Setyembre nagsimula ang pagkahumaling diumano ng action star sa batang Brazilian model, na sa pagkakaalam ng marami ay 16 years old, ngunit sa Friendster account nito ay nakalagay na 19 years old siya.



Matapos nito, tinawagan daw ni Sunshine ang manager ni Marianna, at sinabihan itong ilayo ang alaga niya sa kanyang asawa. Ang panakot diumano ni Sunshine ay magpapa-interbyu siya at sasabihing nirereto ng manager ang kliyente nito sa mga may-asawang maykaya.



Nang lumaon, nakuha rin diumano ni Sunshine ang numero ni Marianna at tinawagan niya ito. Pero laking gulat daw ni Sunshine nang siya pa ang murahin ng modelo sa telepono at sinabihang wala na siyang papel sa buhay ni Cesar dahil hiwalay na siya dito mula pa noong Setyembre.



"SAMBA." Sa isang kaugnay na pangyayari, nabalitaan ng PEP mula sa isa pang source na kumilos nga raw si Cesar para mapaniwala ang batang modelo na siya at si Sunshine ay hiwalay na. Giit ng source, para patunayan diumano ni Cesar na hiwalay na siya sa asawa, dinala nito si Marianna sa Bohol—ang hometown ni Cesar sa Visayas—at ipinakitang wala ni isang litrato si Sunshine sa bahay niya roon. Sabi pa ng source, dinala rin daw ni Cesar si Marianna sa Bulacan—kung saan may resthouse sina Cesar at Sunshine—at ipinakita rin daw na wala ni isang litrato si Sunshine doon.



Ayon sa iba namang source na malapit sa mag-asawa, may code name pa raw si Cesar kay Marianna sa kanyang cell phone—ito ay "Samba." Matatandaang si Marianna ay naging modelo para sa isang corned beef ad na ang tatak ay Samba. Sa television ad nito, nagsasayaw ng seksing samba si Marianna. Liban dito, may ilang beses na rin daw namataan ni Sunshine ang mga text message sa telepono ni Cesar mula kay "Samba." Ang uri raw ng mga text ay: "Honey, where are u?"



DECEMBER 25. Nang kumprontahin na raw ni Sunshine si Cesar noong Pasko tungkol sa kanila ni Marianna ay pumalag diumano ang action star. Bigla raw nitong binuweltahan si Sunshine tungkol sa pagiging sexy star nito noon. Sinabi raw ni Cesar kay Sunshine na magpasalamat siya at pinakasalan pa niya ang aktres kahit na dati itong "porn star." Ito raw ay paulit-ulit pang sinabi ni Cesar. Ito na raw ang ikinagulantang ni Sunshine.



Sabi raw ni Sunshine sa ilang kasamahan, "Inaamin kong nag-bold star ako. Pagkakamali ko iyon. Di ako nakinig sa mga magulang ko. Pero alam ni Buboy [tawag niya kay Cesar] na virgin ako nang nakuha niya ako."



Ayon sa ilang kaibigan ng singer-actress, malungkot ang mukha nito pero walang luha, at malinaw daw ang pagbigkas nito nang sinabing, "Ano ba naman yung mag-sorry siya? I'll forgive him. I love him, e. Hanggang ngayon, I love him. Pero binaligtad pa ako."
