Willie Revillame was rumored to have said that maganda pa rin ang Wowowee over Eat Bulaga a few days ago. Joey reacted by dissing Willie Revillame.

Now, they saw that it is another controversy that people can relish on. So the interveiw was made with Joey de Leon at Startalk, where else.

Hay naku, nabuhay na naman ang tarayan nina Joey de Leon at Willie Revillame dahil sa patutsada nito laban sa Eat Bulaga noong naka-confine siya sa ospital.

Hindi ko masisisi si Papa Joey kung tinarayan niya si Willie porke ito ang nag-umpisa ng away.

Nagkabati na noon sina Papa Joey at Willie pero siniraan nito ang Eat Bulaga. Naimbyerna si Papa Joey na nababakyaan kapag naririnig ang name ni Willie.

Kampi ako kay Papa Joey dahil may katwiran siya. Si Willie ang nag-umpisa ng isyu, sumagot lamang si Papa Joey.

JOEY DE LEON, JOURNALIST?

So Joey de Leon who is I think the most pikon among the celebrities asked forgiveness from the press people for the joke, "Wala ‘yan sa lola ko, pumapatay ng press people!"

The video showed proof that the special show of Eat Bulaga! in Los Angeles was not a flop, contrary to a columnist's claim in a tabloid. The other video showed the president of National Press Club, Benny Antiporda, condemning Joey's joke that was aired in Eat Bulaga's "Ang Joke Mo" segment, where he said:

If you will ask me it is really a flop. It is a flop of it only 6,000 filled up the
venue. Having attended concerts and programs I observed the practice of the concert or program organizers is to ask the people who bought the cheapest ticket to occupy the more expensive seats which were unsold. SO bleachers go to the upper box and upper box people go to the lower box. Ganoon lang kasimple yon. If bleachers are free, then the more there were will be people who will be coming.

"Sa ikapapanatag ng lahat," Joey began, "ako'y humihingi ng paumanhin at patawad sa mga nasaktan ko dun sa diumanong binitawan ko na minasama ng ibang sector at ibang tao. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Pero wala ako talaga—gusto kong idiin—na intensiyon sa gusto niyong ibintang. Hindi yun ang ibig kong sabihin.

Nagsasawa na itong si Jimmy na tungkol sa lolo, lagi siyang talo, e. Si Jimmy Santos, e. So, sabi niya, ‘Lola na lang, lola!' ‘Tapos nagyabang, ‘Wala kayo sa lola ko!'



"Kasi alam mo, ang portion na ‘yon, e, yabangan yun, e. At yun, e, bumabakod dun ang pag-uusap na mula sa kamangha-mangha sa hindi kapani-paniwala hanggang imposible. At biro mo, ang gamit na karakter dito ay ang pinakamahina at pinakamagalang na tao sa ating mag-anak, ‘yan ang lola. Na, hindi ko lubos na maisip kung papaano gagawa ng karahasan, ano?



"Anyway, nandoon na. So, lola siya [Jimmy] nang lola. Siguro nga hindi ako magdedenay na ano ako, dahil galing sa isang giyera na tungkol sa mga miyembro ng ano [press]... E, hindi ko alam, baka nadikit lang, ‘no? Ang ibig kong sabihin nun ay ‘Hoy Jimmy, huwag kang presko. Yung lola ko pumapatay ng mga preskong tao.'

Journalists are also press people. Ibig bang sabihin, entertainment writers lang ang press?

"Hindi ko naman kailangang ipagmalaki na siguro sa artista ngayon, ako lang ang nakasulat sa tatlong pinakamalalaking diyaryo—Inquirer, Manila Bulletin, at soon sa Philippine Star, at sa hindi mabilang na tabloids o scandal sheets.

SO?

"Kaya nga, NPC, Mr. Antiporda... I'm sorry kung nasaktan ko kayo o sa kakampi ninyo. Pero yung mga galit sa akin at sa amin... Alam n'yo nangyayari ‘yan, sa iba na rin nanggagaling na yung network war, yung mga ganito, medyo nagtitirahan ‘yan. E, siyempre hahanapan ka ng ganito—‘O, nagkamali ‘yan, lagay natin ‘yan ng meaning.'



"Kasi mahilig akong magsulat ng tinatawag na sangang-dila. Yung ‘pag nagsulat ka, doble-sentido, yung mga ganun. Kaya siguro napagbibintangan ako na ganun. Nagkataon lang yun. Ako rin nung inisip ko, ‘Press people...sigurado iisipin magpapalusot ka.' Ganun lang po ‘yon. Wala akong iniisip na mamamahayag.

Ang layon naman sa double entendre yong joke.

"At saka ako'y matagal nang manunulat ng komedya po. Hinahamon ko lahat ng writers ng comedy sa buong mundo, noon at ngayon. Alam n'yo po, ‘pag sinabi yung subject journalist killings, napakahirap pong gawan ‘yan ng comedy. Tanungin mo ako, ‘Gawan mo ako ng comedy tungkol sa Diyos, santo, mga dakilang tao ng kasaysayan, mga taong may kapansanan, mga pinuno ng bansa... Napakadali pong isulat sa comedy ‘yan. Pero journalist killings, tingin ko, mahirap, napakahirap.

Nanghamon na naman.

"Mahal ko ang press dahil part n'yo ako. I'm sorry po kung nasaktan po kayo. Para matapos na po ‘to, yun na po ‘yon. Wala akong ibig sabihin na masama.

KUng hindi ka pa tinira ng mga tao sa pagkapikon mo.

FORGIVENESS GRANTED. The issue concerning a certain PEPster, with a pseudonym "Jowee Deame," giving wrong info about the Eat Bulaga show being a flop, did Joey already forgive this person?

Do i believe that crap?

"Walang kaso sa akin," Joey answered. "Yung mga batuhan namin ni Willie, e, tuksuhan lang ‘yan. At hindi naman ako nauna, e." Then after mimicking Willie's crying moment, he added, "Hindi naman ako yun, e. Siya nauna, e. Sumusundot lang ako."

Wow, hypocrisy to the core.

JOURNALIST FIRST, COMEDIAN SECOND. Joey revealed the news that he will write for the Philippine Star starting August 17. After this announcement, he gave out this closing message probably as a note that he indeed was serious in his apology he gave out earlier.

He said the press people are those who are invited for press conferences and journalists are like Max Soliven .

Is he considering himself as a journalist ?

Hindi nga naman nakakatawa ang sinabi ni Joey de LEon na ang kaniyang lola ay pumapatay ng mga press people. How irresponsible and insensitive can he get?

Umalma ang dalawang grupo ng mga mamamahayag sa ginawang pagpapatawa ng komedyante at TV host na si Joey de Leon sa noontime show na Eat Bulaga! noong Miyerkules, August 5.



Labis daw na nainsulto ang National Press Club (NPC) at Alyansa ng mga Filipinong Mamamahayag (Afima) sa binitiwang pahayag ni Joey sa "Ang Joke Mo" segment ng Eat Bulaga.



Nagbibiruan sina Joey at mga iba pang hosts ng show na sina Vic Sotto at Jimmy Santos nang sabihin diumano ni Joey ang ganito: "Wala ‘yan sa lola ko. Ang lola ko pumapatay ng mga press people."



Sinabi ng NPC at Afima sa isyu ng tabloid na Bandera ngayong araw, Agosto 8, na "insensitive" ang ginawang patawa ni Joey sa kanilang segment sa Eat Bulaga!



Ayon sa ulat ng Bandera, ang mga katagang binitawan ni Joey ay "masyadong masakit" para sa hanay ng mga mamamahayag na unti-unti nang nababawasan dahil sa mga walang habas na pagpatay sa mga ito.

How can people respect this comedian who vents his anger to press people just because one editor pissed him off?

DO I BELIEVE THIS CRAP?

An anonymous commenter owned the responsibility of rumor mongering about Eat Bulaga's people turnout in Los Angeles.

Do I believe this crap? Nah.

Why did the editor not just publish this instead of claiming that it was a GMA7 exec who confirmed that it was flop. FLIP FLOP, that's how it is.

Days after this issue came out, no one can still figure out the source of the claims of the Balita entertainment editor. However, in People's Journal today, August 6, an e-mail from someone named joweedeame was published. He identified himself/herself as a fan who started the rumor that the show of Eat Bulaga! in Los Angeles Sports Arena was a flop. PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) later found out that joweedeame used to be a PEPster, the term used for the avid followers of PEP.



The letter was sent to some entertainment writers last Monday, August 4, to apologize to those who have been affected by the false report.

The letter read: "Totoo poh 'yan! I AM SORRY!

"Humihingi ako ng paumanhin to Eat Bulaga, to Mr. Jun Nardo [entertainment columnist], to Mr. Joey de Leon and to everyone na nasaktan in any way by my e-mails!



"Walang nagsabi sa akin na gawin ito. Ginawa ko ito ng kusa!



"This past few hours nagmuni-muni ako at narealize ko na wala namang magandang naiududulot ang mga email ko!



"Isa lamang poh akong fan na nasasaktan kung may masamang naisusulat sa mga iniidolo kong programa/artista. Gumagawa ng paraan para sila eh maprotektahan at matulungan!



"Napagtanto ko na sa kagustuhan kong ipromote ang mga gusto kong programa/artista eh hindi ko namamalayan nakakasakit na ako ng iba.



"Ginagawa ko na pala ang kinaiinisan ko na ginagawa ng ibang mga writer. Yun ay ang siraan ang isang programa/artista para lamang ipromote ang mga gusto nila.



"Naisip ko na ang Eat Bulaga ay marami din namang tinutulungan. Maraming umaasa sa Eat Bulaga! Marami ding napapasaya! Gaya din ng sa Wowowee. (Hindi lang sa kaso ng dalawang programa kundi sa mga artista din katulad nila Marian, Angel, Richard, Piolo, Ding Dong, John Loyd, Sarah, Claudine at Juday.. etc)."



After apologizing, the letter sender requested Joey, entertainment columnist Jun Nardo, and other writers to avoid bad-mouthing the rival network of GMA-7, particularly its shows and talents.



"Pakiusap ko lang sa ibang manunulat, gaya ni Mr. Jun Nardo, na kung gusto nilang ipromote ang kanilang gustong artista o programa eh isulat na lang ang mga magagandang bagay tungkol dito at huwag ng siraan pa ang katapat (hindi kalaban) nitong programa.



"To: Mr. Joey, minsan poh hinay hinay naman sa pagtira sa katapat niyong programa at sa iba pang programa ng ABS-CBN... hindi naman poh lahat ng tao eh kapuso meron ding mga loyal na kapamilya na nasasaktan sa bawat tira niyo... at isa pa poh Mr. Joey kung may nasulat man yung Mr. Dindo na hindi maganda eh mapatawad niyo din siya...malamang eh naimpluwensiyahan din siya ng mga opinion ko sa email ko... huwag niyo na pong idamay kung aatend man siya ng press con diyan sa GMA... malamang eh isa yan sa source ng kanyang kinabubuhay...



"(not in anyway connected poh ako kay dindo baka yan ang isipin niyo, promise!)



"May puwang para sa dalawang programa! at siguro sa mas marami pang programa!"



EXPLAINING THE PHOTOS. In connection to this issue, a series of photos showing empty bleachers inside the Los Angeles Sports Arena were circulated to prove the allegations that the show was a flop.



However, entertainment writers, who were present during the show, already clarified that only part of the arena was opened for the show. In fact, Allan Diones, one of the entertainment writers who attended the show, explained in his column in Abante, "Hindi binuksan ang uppermost section ng OA sa laking LA Sports Arena na mahigit 16,000 ang total seating capacity.



"Normal na ginagawa ‘yon ng mga live stage show sa nasabing venue na hindi inookupa ang buong lugar para mas ma­ging intimate ang au­dience at manageable ang crowd lalo na kung hindi naman ito isang major sports event."



He added that only the arena area (floor section) and lodge area (middle section) were opened for the Eat Bulaga! show. Meaning, there were really no tickets sold for the concourse area (bleacher section), which was shown in the photos.



In connection to this, doweedeame explained that the photos he/she forwarded to entertainment press were obtained from different Internet forum. For this, he/she again made an apology.



The anonymous sender continued, "Kinaclarify ko lang poh ulet (re: EB ay flop sa LA)... Hindi ko poh alam ang tunay na audience turn out ng palabas ng EB... May mga nag post lang ng picture sa Internet...



"Isa galing sa mga DongYan (DingDong-Marian) fans at isa naman galing sa audience ng Wowowee...Pinag tabi ng ibang mga ka forum ko ang mga pictures at mula doon ay gumawa na ng kuwento...



"Ni hindi alam sa forum namin na hindi pala talaga ibinebenta ang mga ticket sa bleacher seats...at dahil sa may kopya ako ng mga email ng mga manunulat eh naisipan kong kuhanin sa forum and dalawang picture at i-send...



"Kung kumita poh ang EB sa LA dapat ay maging masaya ako dahil bukod sa napasaya ang mga taga LA eh yung mga taong umaasa sa EB! Sana ay maraming pang palabas ang tangkilikin ng mga Filipino sa tate.



In the end, the letter sender wished that the two rival afternoon shows, Eat Bulaga and Wowowee, would be able to entertain more Filipinos abroad and not only in the U.S.


"Mabuhay sa dalawang programa at sana ay hindi lang sa US kayo makapunta at makapag dala ng ligaya!

"Muli ay humihingi ako ng paumanhin sa lahat!



"Sana ay maging mabuti na ang lahat!

He got angry when an entertainment editor wrote that Eat Bulaga flopped in los Angeles in July 29.

In the Startalk talk show, he dared the editor to name the GMA7 executive who cofirmed that the show was really a flop. He promised to give him free plane ticket, hotel accommodation and pocket money of $ 5,000.00.

He warned the management of GMA 7 that if they continue inviting this person in the press conferences, he would resign from the TV network.

Earlier he resigned from the Manila Bulletin as columnist because of the publication of the article in its sister tabloid paper, the BALITA.
