MANILA, Philippines – Is it the end for celebrity couples Derek Ramsay and Angelica Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdayao?

That’s what entertainment editor Ricky Lo was implying in his column at the Philippine Star titled “Headed for splitsville?” which was published on Wednesday.

“When John Lloyd and Angelica came home from Vietnam after shooting some scenes for their new ABS-CBN teleserye, which has no title yet, things didn’t seem the same between them and their respective partners. A rift has suddenly happened between the two pairs and, if not repaired in time, might lead them to splitsville,” Lo wrote.

“Could it be true that while in Vietnam, John Lloyd and Angelica discovered (better late than never!) that they have something in common, that they like the same thing. Did they receive a message in a bottle?” Lo added.

News about the supposed “cool-off” between Ramsay and Panganiban spread on Twitter on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Ramsay sent an intriguing tweet to his girlfriend. “Be strong (Angelica). We all know who you are and that there is no truth to what's being said. I'm here for you if ever you need anything.”

Ruffa denied that she was the first to text

In an interview with Boy Abunda, Shaina Magdayao admiited she texted Ruffa Gutierrez but that was after Ruffa texted her boyfriend, John Lloyd Cruz. Ruffa Gutierrez denied this allegation.

“Realllyyy?? Who said?? :/ Yes she called but I was half asleep next to my girls (hellow it was 2am!) so I couldn't talk. Simply told her that if she had a problem...to go ask JL not me. That's all I'm gonna say Timmie. Pasensiya na. Kaloka!” the TV host had texted to Tim--as photographed by him on his cellphone and posted on the "Tweetbiz" site.

With her daughters beside her, Ruffa was said to have ignored the call and gave Shaina her reply via text message instead.

However, no details have been revealed as to why Shaina called Ruffa.

Early this month, Ruffa disclosed in an interview with “TV Patrol” that she and ex John Lloyd have already patched things up. Recall that the two had a falling out late last year after he repeatedly denied calling her after their breakup, when he was already going steady with Shaina. Later on, the actor admitted the reports to be true.

As of this writing, neither Shaina nor John Lloyd have spoken up yet about this latest matter.

The non-celebrity girlfriend of John Lloyd Cruz has refused to comment on a persistent rumor that she and the young actor had officially broken up, an entertainment show reported Sunday.

“The Buzz” reported that stylist Liz Uy declined to give any statement on her relationship with Cruz.

“He is in New York and I want to enjoy my time in Paris,” “The Buzz” quoted Uy as saying.

Cruz is in New York to shoot some scenes for his next film. Uy, on the other hand, is vacationing in Paris with her celebrity friends.

The show also reported that Uy laughed off speculation that there was a third party involved.

An online column claimed that Cruz and Uy had separated last February when the young actor was busy promoting the box-office hit “You Changed My Life.” It also claimed that Sarah Geronimo, Cruz’ leading lady in the movie, might be the reason for the break-up.

The actor’s handler declined to give any statement when reached for comment, according to the “The Buzz.”

Sarah Geronimo's bonus of 1 million is still small

Word from Viva is that Sarah Geronimo got a bonus of one million. For a movie which grossed 180 million, that is chicken feed.

For the two films, she was reportedly paid only half a million.

the biggest box-office hit last year. You Changed My Life fared even better, raking in at least P200 million during its three-week run.



"Sarah is on a concert tour in the US, and won't be back before until April."
