Charice and other members of the David and Foster and Friends concert were downed by food poisioning.

MANILA, Philippines - Hours before her performance in a concert, international singing sensation Charice Pempengco was brought to a hospital in Singapore on Saturday morning due to food poisoning.
The culprit was a sushi meal she had in the morning with international singers David Foster, Natalie Cole, and other artists who are in the city state for another leg of their Asian concert tour.

MANILA, Philippines – The 15-time Grammy winning songwriter-producer David Foster, in town for a concert Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum, said Filipino singer Charice is like a daughter to him.

His show featured Natalie Cole, Peter Cetera, “American Idol” alumnae Ruben Studdard, The Canadian Tenors and our own Charice Pempengco.
During the press conference at the Resorts World Hotel in Pasay City Oct. 21, Foster talked about Pempengco openly.

Mara Clara is back

The teleserye Mara Clara that launched the career of judy Ann Santos and Gladys Reyes is back.

MANILA, Philippines – Starting Monday, Oct. 25, ABS-CBN is bringing back, after 12 years, “Mara Clara,” considered the “Mother of All Teleseryes.” The series, starring Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes as Mara and Clara, respectively, starts airing Monday on Primetime Bida.

“Mara Clara,” which was a popular drama staple from Aug. 17, 1992 to Feb. 14, 1997, has been one of the highest-rated soap operas in the history of Philippine TV and was considered as one of the most unforgettable stories ever told on the boob tube.

The original Mara was of course Judy Ann Santos, and Clara, Gladys Reyes.

Baby James does not like Dingdong

MANILA, Philippines - TV host-actress Kris Aquino's youngest son, James Yap Jr. snatched the limelight during a press conference on his mother's product endorsement as he loudly said that he does not like actor Dingdong Dantes.
Dantes is the next leading man of Aquino in a movie by GMA Films next year.
Aquino was gladly answering questions from the entertainment media about her personal life and her new projects while carrying Baby James when the latter blurted, "I hate Dingdong." This was after his mother announced that she's excited to work with Dantes.

Charice tweeted the chart-topping singer-songwriter on Oct. 17, thanking him for the experience.

Dolphy was brought to the hospital

Last week, naconfined sa ospital si Dolphy .Ngayon ibinalik siya pero for check up lang.

MANILA, Philippines – The son of King of Comedy Dolphy confirmed that his 82-year-old father stayed at the Makati Medical Center last week for his regular check-up and monitoring.
“Nando’n din ako sa Makati Med last week pero hindi naman ako nagtagal. Sumilip lang ako kay Daddy pero okay naman siya. Tiningnan na siya ni Dr. Lopez, ‘yong doktor niya. Okay naman,” explained son and namesake Dolphy Jr. in a phone interview.
He said the veteran actor stayed at the hospital for several days. He was later discharged from the hospital.
Dolphy Jr., however, denied that his father was confined again on Monday.
“Hindi totoo na naka-confine ulit si Daddy. Nagmamadali pa nga akong tawagan siya. Kasi, may mga nagtatanong na nga sa akin. Pero hindi totoo na ibinalik siya sa ospital,” Dolphy Jr. added. As a matter of fact, the son said, Dolphy is now resting at his home in Marikina. “Nando’n lang si Daddy sa house niya, nagpapahinga, kasi may taping siya bukas (Tuesday).”

Ruffa Gutierrez galit kay John Lloyd Cruz

Galit na naman daw si Ruffa Gutierrez kay John Lloyd Cruz, matapos nitong malaman na nag-deny ang aktor sa pagtawag-tawag nito sa kanya sa telepono.

Isang malapit na kaibigan ni Ruffa ang nagkuwento sa amin na hindi raw inaasahan ni Ruffa na magdi-deny si John Lloyd tungkol sa pagtawag-tawag nito sa kanya.

Sabi pa raw ni Ruffa, sana raw ay hindi na lang nag-comment si John Lloyd tungkol doon.

Anyway, nu’ng makita namin si Ruffa sa taping ng Paparazzi last Saturday, halata ang galit sa mukha nito nu’ng banggitin namin sa kanya ang tungkol sa ginawang pagdi-deny ni John Lloyd sa pagtawag sa kanya.

Pero, agad na tumanggi na mag-comment si Ruffa sa akin. Ayaw na raw niyang pag-usapan pa si John Lloyd.

Grace Poe LLamanzares appointed MTRCB Chairman

 Mary Grace Poe-Llamanzares, the daughter of Fernando Poe, Jr. and Susan Roces was appointed as chairman of MTRCB replacing Consoliza Laguardia.

Matapos ang napabalitang away noong isang linggo, kinumpirma ni Vice Ganda na nagkaayos na sila ni Movie and Television Review and Classification Board Chair Consoliza Laguardia kaugnay sa isyu ng pagiging mainit umano nito kay Vice dahil sa kanyang double meaning na pahayag.
“Nagti-text ngayon, para kaming mag-ina, sobrang sweet namin. Alam kong hindi maniniwala 'yung iba pero deadma ako dun, ang importante maayos na kami ni Chairman,” sabi ni Vice Ganda.
Tiyempo ang pag-aayos ng gusot ng dalawa sa pamamaalam ni Laguardia sa kanyang puwesto sa MTRCB. Papalitan na si Laguardia ng bagong appointed MTRCB chief na si Mary Grace Poe-Llamanzares na anak ni Da King Fernando Poe Jr. at aktres na si Susan Roces.
Si Direk Emmanuel Borlaza naman ang bagong MTRCB Vice Chairman.

Patrick dela Rosa arrested for attempted rape

Patrick dela Rosa, a movie actor who became popular during the 80's was arrested and jailed on the accusation of attempted rape of  a twenty year old student. 

 

Kasalukuyang nakakulong ang aktor at Oriental Mindoro first district Board Member dahil sa attempted rape case na isinampa ng isang 20-year-old student na residente ng Cainta, Rizal.

Hindi rin nila nakunan ng video o litrato ang actor-politician dahil nakaharang sa selda ang kanyang inmates.

Naganap daw ang alleged attempted rape sa Unit 2206 ng Regalia Towers sa P. Tuazon corner Edsa, Cubao, Quezon City noong Biyernes, October 8, 2 a.m.

Nakasaad sa affidavit ng complainant na may drinking session sila ng kanyang mga kaibigan sa nabanggit na condo unit nang dumating diumano si Patrick. Dahil sa epekto ng alak, pumasok daw ang estudyante sa kuwarto at mabilis na nakatulog.

Metring David died at 90

Metring David a comedienne died at age 90.

 

MANILA, Philippines -- Veteran actress-comedienne Metring David passed away Thursday afternoon. She was 90 years old.
David's grandchild Ellen Woldenborg confirmed the news. She said David had not eaten for 4 days before she died on Thursday.
Born in 1926, David first appeared as a comedian in a drama titled "Malapit sa Diyos."
She became part of comedy films such as Nida Blanca's "Galawgaw" and "Babaeng Kalbo."
Last June 20, David celebrated her last birthday with her friends and family.
Her body lies at Henry Funeral Homes in La Loma.

Luis Manzano at ang tampo niya kay Mariel Rodrigurez

MANILA, Philippines - Now that Toni Gonzaga and KC Concepcion have spoken up about their rift with now Mrs. Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla, Luis Manzano has followed suit to clear things up on the matter.
The “E-Live” host clarified on the show Oct. 2 that he and Robin Padilla never had a confrontation. It was reported that Robin got jealous after Mariel told him about Luis’ supposed attempt to kiss her in an episode of the defunct “Wowowee.”
According to Luis, the stories which circulated on the Internet are half true and half lies. He said: “Ganito na lang, may mga nabasa akong write-up online na siguro half true, half lie. May accurate doon sa nabasa ko, may hindi.”

MANILA, Philippines - Robin Padilla’s mom Eva Carino recalls the women in her son’s colorful love life, in view of his recent wedding to Mariel Rodriguez last Aug. 19.

Eva talked about Robin’s ephemeral affair with TV host and columnist Dolly Ann Carvajal.

“Ano naman eh, maikli lang ‘yung ano ni Robin noon [kay] Dolly Ann. Kung gusto niya, gusto ko na rin. Pumapasok lang ako kung kailangan na akong magbigay ng advice,” she said on "Juicy," Oct. 4.

The Padilla matriarch admits getting alarmed over rumors linking Ruffa Gutierrez to Robin because the former's mom, Annabelle Rama, had reacted to it.

“Tinatanong ko siya [Ruffa], ‘Hoy, ano ba talaga? Mukhang galit si Annabelle, ha!’ Sabi niya, ‘Hindi puwede Ma, hindi totoo ‘yon.’ ‘Pag sinabi niyang hindi totoo, stop na ako.”

Eva believes Liezel Sicangco is her son's first love.

“Ah, si Liezel, bata pa sila. Siguro si Liezel noon mga 14 or 15 years old lang. Si Robin, mga 16 lang. Talagang pag-ibig ng mga teenager. Pero, alam ko first love niya si Liezel.”

She described Kris Aquino as a very open person.

James Yap's Lawyer asks for Gag Order

Of late, Kris’ camp has added mutual psychological incapacity as ground for filing the petition on the nullification of their marriage. In their earlier petition, the Queen of Talk’s lawyers cited "lack of authority of the solemnizing officer."
Lately, there have been incessant talk that James was remiss in fulfilling his financial obligation to his family.

No Show si Kris Aquino sa Pilipinas Win na Win

 Friday, October 1, 2010 is supposed to be the last day of Kris Aquino in the noontime show Pilipinas Win na Win. Pero hindi siya dumating.

After “Win na Win”’s opening number on Friday, only Pokwang, Pooh and Jason Gainza came out of the stage to greet the audience.
Valerie Concepcion, meanwhile, tweeted a few hours before the episode’s broadcast that she will be a bit late as she came from Subic for a motorcade.
There was almost no mention of Kris throughout the almost two-hour show, except during the “Knock-Knock” segment at the earlier part of the show. Pokwang dedicated her “knock-knock joke of the day”---“pahinging sabaw ng lomi”---to the Queen of All Media. She then sang Selena’s “Dreaming Of You.”
It seemed to be business as usual for the show, even as Kris was still a no-show at the segments she usually facilitates, such as “Mali-Oke,” “Open Susi-Me,” and the jackpot portion of “OMG.”
Where could Kris be?
