So she talked about Gretchen Barreto while saying that she promised not to make comments. Did she ? Or she just confirmed the incident?

"The one with Gretchen, I mean I promised her kanina that I wouldn't comment about it kasi nangyari po ‘yon sa isang private setting. So nagulat po kami kung paano lumabas sa Internet. Siguro naikuwento ni Gretchen o naikuwento ni Pops o naikuwento ko to some close people, pero hindi po namin akalain na lalabas po ‘yon sa diyaryo o Internet. So I guess it's best to ask Gretchen about it because baka sabihin niya na I'm using it for publicity," paliwanag ni Ruffa matapos ang presscon proper.

Para kay Ruffa, wala naman daw masama kung siya man o ibang kaibigan naman ni Gretchen ang manlibre. Kung tutuusin nga raw ay maliit pa ang halagang P4,300 kumpara sa mga nagastos ni Gretchen noon para sa kanyang mga close friends. Meaning to say, talagang generous si Greta pagdating sa kanyang mga mahal sa buhay.

"Yeah, wala namang problema. I mean, how many times naman po na si Gretchen po ang nanlibre sa ‘kin?" depensa ni Ruffa. "So I think as a friend, okey lang naman na paminsan-minsan, ibang friends like me or Pops ang manlibre naman sa kanya, di ba?"

Inamin ni Ruffa na nabahala siya nang mabalitaang lumabas na nga ang naturang insidente sa publiko. Baka raw kasi paghinalaan siya ni Gretchen na siya ang nagkalat ng kuwento sa ilang kaibigang reporters.

"Medyo na-bother ako kasi baka ako maging suspect, di ba? Ng paglagay sa Internet, which is hindi naman talaga. I know a lot of things and never ko talaga ikinukuwento. That's why I think I'm a good friend because kahit sinasabihan ako ng sikreto, three days later nakalimutan ko na kung ano'ng ikinuwento sa ‘kin!" bulalas ng bagong Belo endorser.

GRETCHEN BARRETO IN THE NEWS AGAIN

Gretchen Barreto is in the news again. Read and see if the stories are not to stir up publicity for the ageing actress.

There are two incidents when the controversy magnet were involved that were brow-raising according to PEP.

One was when the credit card of the The Gretchen Barreto which is of course courtesy of her live-in partner Tonyboy Cojuangco was declined three times by the hotel where she invited her friends Ruffa Gutierrez, Pops Fernandez and a non-showbiz for dinner.

Ruffa was said to have remarked about the possibility of cancellation of her credit card by Tonyboy like what Yilmaz did to her when she came back to the Philippines.Ruffa ended up paying for dinner which amounted to more than four thousand pesos. ( in a five star hotel, what could you eat for 4,000 pesos?) That's hardly a 100 dollars.

It was reported that Gretchen texted someone which turned out to be Tonyboy because he came rushing in after a few minutes. The people in the hotel heard the two quarelling inside the comfort rooms. (What comfort room? ladies or men?)

If it is true that Tonyboy is like what is pictured in the story... that is he would come at the push of a button by Greta, what kind of a person is he... too madly in love with the old actress?

The second story happened during the wake of the late Rudy Fernandez. It is popularly known that Bong Revila and Gretchen Barreto had illicit affair. Gretchen Barreto allegely winked several times to the actor-senator which sent Lani Mercado got closer to her husband. Marjorie Barreto is said to have nagged her sister from doing it. The
has-been actress commented that she was just trying to find out if her botox gets the attention of the actor.

CHRISTOPHER DELEON AND RUDY FERNANDEZ

Christopher de Leon said that after Rudy Fernandez' death, the movie stars should be conscious of their immortality and health.

He mentioned about his family's friendship with the Fernandezes since he is one of the godfathers of Mark Fernandez, Rudy's and Alma's son and Rudy was the godfather of his son Miguel.

They were together in family affairs, such as outings, cruises and parties. Sandy Andolong his wife is a friend of Lorna Tolentino.

The actor reminded the co-stars that anytime, life may be cut shortened by sickness, accident or even murder like that of Nida Blanca.

According to the maid, she had been subjected to several beatings from Princess. When confronted by the husband, Dr. Gregoria Ocampo, she retaliated to the maid to get back at her.

After escaping from the cruel employer, she was brought to the hospital by the security guards.


In 1997, Princess Revilla was sued for P16M back for allegedly beating up two former maids. She was acquitted when the two maids just disappeared. Were they paid out of court or were harassed to go away.

RUDY FERNANDEZ ' BRAVE BATTLE OF CANCER

It was in 2004 when the malignant tumor was discovered by the doctor. He underwent an operation to reomove his gall-bladder, bile duct and part of his pancreas.

They thought that he had won the battle.

In 2006, the cancer returned in advanced stage.

January 2008- Rudy rejected the third protocol chemotherapy.

April 2008- they left for the United States for a third cycle of Rexin-G, the “tumor-targeted injectable gene therapy vector.”

In the first two Rexin-G cycles, Rudy felt better.

Rudy was enrolled in clinical trials at the Sarcoma Oncology Center in Santa Monica, California. “

The first three cycles are a test. If all goes well, they can give Rudy six to eight cycles.”

June 1- Rudy asked to be brought home. Lorna Tolentino said that she had surrendered her husband to God.

June 4, Rudy had a seizure but herefused to be brought back to the hospital.

june 7- He died at 6:15 at age 56.

RUDY FERNANDEZ DIED OF CANCER

Rudy Fernandez succumbed to cancer, Saturday, 6:15 Philippine time after battling the disease for two years.

He was survived by his wife Lorna Tolentino, his two sons Ralphe and Renz and his son with Alma Moreno, Mark Anthony Fernandez.

He was one of the eight children of director (Dr.) Gregorio Fernandez who started in the movies at Sampaguita Pictures.He got popular in 1970's when he did the movie the true-to-life story of Baby Ama. Other true-life characters he portrayed included military man Victor Corpuz, action star Eddie Fernandez, Baguio cop Bobby Ortega and Sen. Ping Lacson. Rudy won four Best Actor awards.

His wish to live longer made him look for alternative treatment for his peri-ampullary cancer diagnosed in 2004.

Until early this year, the couple still went to US to try some new treatment. They came back to the Philippines when doctor informed that they could do nothing more.

Rudy declined to be brought to the hospital when he was in pain a day before he died. He also instructed the family not to put him under respirator when his time comes.

He will be interred in June 12.

GERMAN MORENO ON BILLY CRAWFORD

German Moreno is an icon in the movie industry not only as a starmaker but as TV host.

Billy Crawford was among his That's Entertainment wards ever since he was a young boy.

So do not be surprised if he is outspoken about his feeling on Billy's transfer from GMa 7 to ABS-CBN recently.

As a mentor-discoverer, Moreno felt that Billy owed it to him to have ocnsulted him regarding his plan.

What did Lorna Tolentino mean when she said that the battle is already out of their hands and she affirmed her faith regarding her husband's coping with cancer.

Rudy Fernandez checked out of the hospital where he was confined for a month to undergo percutaneous transhepatic billiary drainage.

If it is to celebrate their wedding anniversary or he just wanted to get out of the hospital even though he's weak, it seems, the future is grim.

Even Jinggoy Estrada, his closest friend revealed that he's no longer talking as much
even though he can still alert.

It is sad that he got sick after being able to wither the stress he had with his son MARK Fernandez.
