Here is the news:
Megastar Sharon Cuneta and husband Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan finally opened up about the recent scare they had involving their daughters, Frankie and Miel.
At the induction of officers for the Movie Writers and Press Photographers, the couple revealed that their daughters had been sick.
“Nagkaroon siya (Frankie) ng nasal pharyngitis. It’s a viral infection,” Senator Kiko told a “Showbiz News Ngayon” reporter.
Sharon feared it would lead to dengue.
“Bumababa kasi ang count ng platelets niya (Frankie). We couldn’t rule out dengue. Mataas ang lagnat araw-araw. Nahawa na si Miel, nahawa ako, nahawa rin siya (referring to the senator),” she shared.
Both said Frankie is now out of danger.
The couple also talked about Senator Pangilinan’s bid for higher office come 2010 elections. He’s running for vice president, an endeavor he considers “a big challenge.”
“Mahirap. Sinuri nating mabuti 'yan. Hindi ito biro para sa pamilya. Sila ang unang-unang maapektuhan,” said he.
Sharon echoed the sentiment.
“Matagal na deliberation 'yan. Kasi nga, pag tumakbo kaming independent, considering ‘yung budget namin, meron kaming constraints kung saan-saang aspects.”
The megastar didn’t rule out the possibility of her also running for public office in the future.
“Kung doon ako talaga epektibo - sa pagiging isang public official - siguro pag-iisipan ko talaga,” she said.
In the meantime, the multi-awarded actress says she is still enjoying life in show business.
“At this point, marami akong lives na I hope nata-touch ko. Dahil sa teknolohiya na ngayon, parang ang dami…you can reach out to so many people. Na I don’t have to be in office to do what I do best,” she said.
