Baby Jean Michel was born by Caesarian section, weighing eight pounds, at 11:30 a.m. last Sunday, June 29, at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Alabang four days ahead of schedule. Mom Danica Sotto and dad Marc Pingris are as excited as the baby’s maternal lolo and lola, Vic Sotto and Dina Bonnevie.

BOY ABUNDA DEFENDS GRETCHEN BARRETO

As if it is Boy Abunda, the explanation is acceptable so he responded to questions regarding the credit-card-decline-fiasco.

About the news that Gretchen is leaving for abroad.

Boy's answer: "Ang totoo, si Dominique [solong anak ni Gretchen kay Tony Boy] ay ilang taon na lamang at mag-aaral na sa abroad. I'll put it straight, ‘no. Yung sinasabi na mag-a-abroad si Gretchen at si Tonyboy ay gusto talaga nila, ‘pag halimbawa, nag-boarding school na or nag-aral na sa abroad si Dominique, gusto nila ay kasama sila ng anak.

Look at this no-brainer answer. What is the use of putting her to boarding school if they like to be together. Di getz na lang sila ng bahay and enroll her in a non-boarding school.

Boy's Answer:"Hindi ko masasagot yun. Hindi ko alam. Ah, I think there's a good reason. Nag-uusap 'yan. Kanina magkausap yung dalawa.

movie, Ang Tanging Ina ninyong Lahat. He was not consulted when her wife accepted the role.

JOHN LLOYD CRUZ -IS SHE BETTY'S ARMANDO?

I Like the love team of Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd so if he is chosen as Armand, I will be very excited.

Alonzo leads the cast of ABS-CBN's upcoming television series "Betty La Fea"-- a Filipino version of the hugely popular Mexican telenovela of the same title, which also became a hit TV series in the United States, when it was aired there as "Ugly Betty".

Cruz has also learned that he's on the shortlist of actors being considered for the role of Armando, Betty's love interest.

Gretchen Barreto is in the news again. Read and see if the stories are not to stir up publicity for the ageing actress.

There are two incidents when the controversy magnet were involved that were brow-raising according to PEP.

One was when the credit card of the The Gretchen Barreto which is of course courtesy of her live-in partner Tonyboy Cojuangco was declined three times by the hotel where she invited her friends Ruffa Gutierrez, Pops Fernandez and a non-showbiz for dinner.

Ruffa was said to have remarked about the possibility of cancellation of her credit card by Tonyboy like what Yilmaz did to her when she came back to the Philippines.Ruffa ended up paying for dinner which amounted to more than four thousand pesos. ( in a five star hotel, what could you eat for 4,000 pesos?) That's hardly a 100 dollars.

It was reported that Gretchen texted someone which turned out to be Tonyboy because he came rushing in after a few minutes. The people in the hotel heard the two quarelling inside the comfort rooms. (What comfort room? ladies or men?)

If it is true that Tonyboy is like what is pictured in the story... that is he would come at the push of a button by Greta, what kind of a person is he... too madly in love with the old actress?

The second story happened during the wake of the late Rudy Fernandez. It is popularly known that Bong Revila and Gretchen Barreto had illicit affair. Gretchen Barreto allegely winked several times to the actor-senator which sent Lani Mercado got closer to her husband. Marjorie Barreto is said to have nagged her sister from doing it. The
has-been actress commented that she was just trying to find out if her botox gets the attention of the actor.

Christopher de Leon said that after Rudy Fernandez' death, the movie stars should be conscious of their immortality and health.

According to the maid, she had been subjected to several beatings from Princess. When confronted by the husband, Dr. Gregoria Ocampo, she retaliated to the maid to get back at her.

After escaping from the cruel employer, she was brought to the hospital by the security guards.


In 1997, Princess Revilla was sued for P16M back for allegedly beating up two former maids. She was acquitted when the two maids just disappeared. Were they paid out of court or were harassed to go away.

RUDY FERNANDEZ ' BRAVE BATTLE OF CANCER

It was in 2004 when the malignant tumor was discovered by the doctor. He underwent an operation to reomove his gall-bladder, bile duct and part of his pancreas.

They thought that he had won the battle.

In 2006, the cancer returned in advanced stage.

January 2008- Rudy rejected the third protocol chemotherapy.

April 2008- they left for the United States for a third cycle of Rexin-G, the “tumor-targeted injectable gene therapy vector.”

In the first two Rexin-G cycles, Rudy felt better.

Rudy was enrolled in clinical trials at the Sarcoma Oncology Center in Santa Monica, California. “

The first three cycles are a test. If all goes well, they can give Rudy six to eight cycles.”

June 1- Rudy asked to be brought home. Lorna Tolentino said that she had surrendered her husband to God.

June 4, Rudy had a seizure but herefused to be brought back to the hospital.

june 7- He died at 6:15 at age 56.

RUDY FERNANDEZ DIED OF CANCER

Rudy Fernandez succumbed to cancer, Saturday, 6:15 Philippine time after battling the disease for two years.

He was survived by his wife Lorna Tolentino, his two sons Ralphe and Renz and his son with Alma Moreno, Mark Anthony Fernandez.

He was one of the eight children of director (Dr.) Gregorio Fernandez who started in the movies at Sampaguita Pictures.He got popular in 1970's when he did the movie the true-to-life story of Baby Ama. Other true-life characters he portrayed included military man Victor Corpuz, action star Eddie Fernandez, Baguio cop Bobby Ortega and Sen. Ping Lacson. Rudy won four Best Actor awards.

His wish to live longer made him look for alternative treatment for his peri-ampullary cancer diagnosed in 2004.

Until early this year, the couple still went to US to try some new treatment. They came back to the Philippines when doctor informed that they could do nothing more.

Rudy declined to be brought to the hospital when he was in pain a day before he died. He also instructed the family not to put him under respirator when his time comes.

He will be interred in June 12.

GERMAN MORENO ON BILLY CRAWFORD

German Moreno is an icon in the movie industry not only as a starmaker but as TV host.

Billy Crawford was among his That's Entertainment wards ever since he was a young boy.

So do not be surprised if he is outspoken about his feeling on Billy's transfer from GMa 7 to ABS-CBN recently.
