Kris isn’t missing from ABS-CBN Christmas Special
Aquino missed the tape-as-live session during starry, starry night of the TV special last December 12 at the Meralco Theater in Ortigas, prompting speculation about the reason for her absence. After all, most of ther fellow "kapamilyas" were there.
“Wala si Kris no’ng gabi ng ‘Christmas Special’ dahil nasa live telecast siya ng ‘Deal Or No Deal’ at mahirap talaga na makasama siya dahil nasa set siya. (Kris wasn’t in the night of the ‘Christmas Special’ because she was in a live telecast of ‘Deal Or No Deal’ and it was really hard for her to be with th rest of her Kapamilya stars because she was on the set),” explained Cory Valenzuela-Vidanes, ABS-CBN Vice President for TV Production.
“But Kris will have a separate endorsement of the ‘Christmas Special.’ Mapapanood siya ro’n. (She’ll be included there),” said Vidanes.
Vidanes laughed off rumors Aquino deliberately made herself scarce during the taping of the Christmas TV special, saying the actress and TV host has no reason to do so.
Aquino currently has two shows in ABS-CBN and Vidanes said that the former really has a very busy schedule most of the time.
Family concerns might have also been factors in Aquino's lack of time for the TV special. According to movie writer JC Nigado, Kris and husband basketball cager James Yap recently moved into their new lovenest in Valle Verde, where they plan to spend the Yuletide season.
To make up for her absence in the ABS-CBN Christmas TV special, Aquino instead prepared and shot a very thoughtful spiel to be aired on the show.
“Magaling talaga si Kris. Talagang mahusay siyang magsalita at mag-emcee. (Kris is really good. She talks and emcees very well),” Nigado revealed.
Another star who was conspicuously absent from the Christmas TV special was Angelika de la Cruz who is reportedly leaving ABS-CBN officially.
