Liezel Martinez is cancer-free

People knew that Liezel Martinez, the only daughter of Amalia Fuentes, a former movie actress to an equally popular actor Romeo Vasquez was diagnosed with cancer. Her family requested for privacy and it was only revealed by Nino Muhlac, the once-upon-a-time boy wonder and cousin of Liezel.

According to her husband, Albert Martinez, she is already cancer-free.

Albert Martinez has confirmed that his wife Liezel Martinez is now cancer-free.

Liezel was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2008. When the news broke out, nobody from her immediate family talked about her condition publicly.

Her cousin Niño Muhlach, however, inadvertently revealed her condition in an interview.

Albert broke his silence on the matter at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award in December last year. He said that his wife is doing okay, and that they draw their strength from God.

Last July 15, Liezel made her first public appearance after she was diagnosed with cancer. This was in an event directed by Albert.

“Oo, magaling na siya. She’s hundred percent recovered,” Albert confirmed in “The Buzz” on July 19.

The actor plans to treat her wife to a grand vacation.

“Kasi kami naman ni Liezel, ang bisyo lang naman namin, travel. We make it a point na pag meron kaming time at walang ginagawa, we travel. We’ve been to two Seven wonders of the World, in Cambodia and the Great Wall of China,” he said.

Is Liezel back to work?

“I hope so. Okay lang. Why not?”

Albert thanked all the people who have prayed for Liezel's recovery
