NORA AUNOR is the only superstar of the Philippines movies. She has more than 150 movies in her credit and several dozens of leading men. From forgettable movies in the 1960's she honed her craft by making classi movies; several of which were acknowledged by award-giving bodies both in the Philippines and abroad.
After she won in the Tawag ng Tanghalan, she became a contract star of Sampaguita Pictures. She got small roles in the company of the other mestizas and mestizos in the Sampaguita stable of stars. She had no leading men yet except being the friend of the other dakilang extras, German Moreno and Boy Alano.
