Yilmaz calls Ruffa ‘a traitor’ in first TV interview
Finally, Yilmaz Bektas started talking in front of the cameras. And finally, he expressed what he genuinely felt about his estranged wife Ruffa Gutierrez.

“A traitor,” he said in his first public appearance through a televised interview with ABS-CBN’s Europe News Bureau chief Danny Buenafe.
Yilmaz even went further in describing Ruffa as “Brutus,” or Marcus Junius Brutus, the Roman senator who led the vicious assassination of his best friend—the man he said he “loved,” Emperor Julius Caesar.

According to the report, Yilmaz decided to finally severe ties with Ruffa after the former beauty queen allegedly declared in a television interview that she “does not love her husband anymore and is no longer happy with him.”
The Turkish businessman was irked. “This person coming out on the television saying I don’t wanna go back, I don’t wanna be with him. It’s enough. I don’t wanna say anything and I don’t wanna be with this person anymore,” Yilmaz said.

However, Yilmaz neither confirmed nor denied that he had hurt Ruffa physically—a “cultural trait” that the actress-TV host raised in her first public interview over the separation in ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz.”
Yilmaz stressed Ruffa was “playing with me like (a) child.” He claimed he was hurt after he only learned about Ruffa’s feelings about him from another person.
“(A friend was) asking me when Ruffa will gonna come to Barcelona and I (said) after two weeks and the same guy (called) me saying that your wife doesn’t love you anymore and she wanna divorce with you," Yilmaz told ABS-CBN.
Nagkakausap ba sila? Aba eh naghihintay sa US of A si Ruffa at naghihintay naman sa Barcelona si Yilmaz? Gulo ninyo.
He said this was the height of treachery. "And after that I think [her] name have to be traitor and I’m calling her name now Brutus,” Yilmaz added.
Yilmaz further said Ruffa changed so much since coming back to the Philippines in February to honor her showbiz commitments. Since then, he said, she practically abandoned her duties as his wife and as a mother, claiming he always found out that his two children with Ruffa, Lorin and Venice, were with their nannies every time he spoke with them.
He mentioned Ruffa did not care about the stomach illness he suffered early May that required surgery. At the time of the operation, Yilmaz claimed, Ruffa was busy partying with showbiz friends.

Yilmaz attributed Ruffa’s “loss of respect” for him to her family and showbiz colleagues.
He added Ruffa could win an “Oscar award several times” because she was a good actress—portraying contradicting personalities when he spoke with her privately and when she appeared on television.

But despite Ruffa’s actions, Yilmaz said he continued to miss his family “terribly.”
“I miss them of course but I have to close my heart for all these kinds of feelings, for the love, for missing them, for giving up your family, I don’t know why.”
Yilmaz then summed up his feelings in a few words: “I’m so sad for her, I’m so sorry for her.”
ABS-CBN said it had tried to reach Ruffa to air her side but the actress declined and said she would first watch the interview before making any comment.
